Pro-Temps is a national wildland fire contractor that operates throughout the US, responding to wildland fires.

Our greatest assets are our employees, and we take pride in our organization's hands-on training and professionalism.

We have put together this page in order to assist you in becoming a wildland firefighter.  Everything you need to become a NWCG-certified firefighter can be found here.

New Wildland Firefighter

If you have an interest in becoming a Wildland Firefighter and are 18 years of age or older, this is your path to getting trained and signed up. A wildland firefighter must adhere to certain physical standards and pass several online courses as well as a field exercise. Additional paperwork will need to be completed that will allow you to be hired, drive a fire apparatus vehicle, and get paid. This is a physically demanding profession, but it can also be very rewarding.

Here is what needs to be done.

Take the online training.
Attend an 8-hour field training
Pass a pack test, carrying 45 pounds over 3 miles.
Thats it!
