The process is simple!!

Becoming a wildland firefighter should be simple, but sometimes it can seem tricky. We have put together this page to try to take the confusion out of becoming a firefighter. If at any time you need assistance, you can reach out to Dominic Rogers: 785-991-085

Take the Classes

Take each of the online training courses and print off the certificates 

(click here to get started).

Attend Training

Attend an 8 hour field exercise. This is hands on training in a field setting.

Pass a Pack Test

Pass a pack test. A pack test is a physical requirement for wildland firefighters. It consists of walking 3 miles carrying a 45 lb pack in 45 minutes.
